Our School Council consists of two representative from each year group from Year 1 to Year 6.  These councillors are elected by pupil votes during the Autumn Term.    Our school council is really active and the members play a very important part in making sure that everyone in our school community has a voice.

Comments from Children:

'The first thing is how much Miss Coyne does for us.  She listens and helps us, she is our role model!  From all of us Thankyou! The second thing is what school council has done for me.  It has taught me patience, how to listen and responsibility.  With out school council I would not be the person I am today.

Thank you

'When I was in Year 3 I was voted by my class to represent them as a school councillor.  It was my job to listen to my class members and take their thoughts and ideas to council meetings to represent my class and to report back what had been discussed.  In the meetings we sat around a table and discussed what was going on in the school and then we would feedback what we had heard and then we would think of smart ways of solving issues and problems, such as buying bike racks or getting a cage to play football in.  The one think I loved about school council was that we always kept the classes informed.  If the council does not know what to do we ask people like Mr Briscoe, Mrs Chai or even Mr McQueen.

I really enjoyed my time as a school councillor, it was a great experience for me as I learnt that if you work together you can get things done.'

'At the beginning of school council I didn't understand the meaning of it.  This is my first time in school council and hopefully not the last.  Being in it has given me lots of responsibility and work to make our school better and safe.'
